Parenting and Child Conduct Counseling offers a class for parents of oppositional children and teens. The course focuses on teaching parents specialized skills and techniques to manage child and teen behavior problems ranging from mild to severe to include Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorder. We call the class Behavioral Parent Skills Training.
Although our program focuses on the positive, it is not soft. However, there is no need to get tougher to get your child to behave age-appropriately either. Harsh disciplinary measures often cause childhood oppositional behavior to worsen. Instead, we begin by teaching parents valuable skills that address problem behavior without damaging relationships within the family.
The class goal is for parents to learn how to use alternative behavior management techniques to increase their child's compliance and reduce rule-breaking and aggressive behavior. This eight-week course includes various parenting techniques explicitly designed to manage and change childhood oppositional, aggressive, and antisocial behavior.
The class begins on Thursday, October 14, 2021, and ends on December 16, 2021. Classes meet on Monday evenings from 8:00 - 9:30 PM in the PCCC offices at 912 Jefferson Street, St. Charles, MO 63301 or Live Online.
